Why are Singlepoint maps important to understand?

Understand what you are looking at on a map and how you interpret it is as important as the data behind it - this is especially important when viewing a map containing sensitive information, such as information about where crime is occurring. It is necessary to remember that the area you are looking at may be comprised of a variety of different neighbourhoods, each with different characteristics. As all the neighbourhoods within an area are grouped together, and their numbers of crime added together, the area as a whole may appear to be weighted more than if the area did not encompass a vulnerable area.

Therefore, it is necessary to understand how the data is calculated and read about the different types of geography Singlepoint displays on its maps. This information can all be accessed through this help centre, and will aid in avoiding most misunderstandings which can arise from viewing maps of this nature.
